The article makes no mention of the fact that Rupert Murdoch is a British citizen. He had to become one when he acquired newspapers in the UK. He lived in the UK for decades, and likely remains a British citizen to this day.
No mention of it anywhere I can find, which in itself is interesting as the law for media ownership is quite strict in the UK. Whilst he may have bypassed the law due to the IPO and ownership structure of Sky television and later BSkyB, I very much doubt he could have done that with his proprietorship of News International. All his kids have UK citizenship.
I'm not extremely experienced editing but just the other day, the DOJ released that he was listed as a contact on Epstein's list. I would recommend putting it at the very end of the article under "other assessments and investigations" at the very end, starting a new one sentence paragraph. May I suggest the following language, "In February of 2025, his name and redacted contact information appeared on the contact list of Jeffrey Epstein released by the United States Department of Justice." Apparently, I'm not cool enough to add this fact, so maybe one of you can help? Also, here is the link to the DOJ contact list for a reference, "https://www.justice.gov/ag/media/1391321/dl?inline". Thank you. 96.93.47.58 (talk) 16:27, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is WP:BLPPRIMARY so it is off limits. It may well be this particular Rupert Murdoch but we can't say for sure. The other problem is what this actually proves. It doesn't prove any wrongdoing by Rupert Murdoch and should not be used to imply this.--♦IanMacM♦(talk to me)16:42, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Are you serious? There is no doubt that this is Rupert Murdoch listed in Epstein's Contact List. I challenge you to find one person with this name other than the subject of this article. I further ask you, is it EVEN POSSIBLE that the name on the list corresponding to the article's subject's name, is anyone OTHER than the subject? Come on. What are we doing here? His name is on the list. It is public knowledge his name is on the list. It is an important and notable fact that his name was on this list. Additionally, we don't need to PROVE anything. This is not a court of law. What we need to do is write accurate articles regarding the subject matter of said article. There is, in my mind, no debate as to the fact that his name was listed on Epstein's Contact list. There are solid, governmental sources saying the same. It is a fact about him that is important. If you want to hide the truth, then I suppose that is your prerogative. But the fact that Epstein had his phone number is notable and should be added to the article. 96.93.47.58 (talk) 15:00, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure there are lots of non-criminals that end up in criminal's address books. I do not think it'd be a very good idea to list that in all of the non-criminal's Wikipedia articles. Seems WP:UNDUE at best, and an attempt to turn their articles into hit pieces at worst. –Novem Linguae (talk) 19:03, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
